Welcome
to the
Lancashire Colleges Consortium
Website.
On the site you will find details of both past and present projects which have been led by the Consortium. Over the years since the Consortium was set up as a company limited by guarantee in 1998 we have proposed and executed over 100 projects.
Like any other organisation in a similar position we have had some projects that have exceeded our wildest hopes and others that we would be quite happy to forget about if anyone would let us!
Sometimes though it is the ones that didn't work which teach us more than the ones that did.

Whilst the Consortium is built around Further Education Colleges in Lancashire we have always been keen to work with other organisations outside the sector both at a "whole" Lancashire and local level and partners in bids have included the Trade Union Sector, Voluntary Agencies/ Community Groups, Private Sector Organisations and Brokerage Agencies such as Businesslink.
The Consortium is committed to partnership working as we believe that it allows us to develop better solutions to problems and create win - win situations.
Some of the projects have been highly innovative, others quite conventional - if you find anything here of interest and wonder whether it could be adapted to a new situation you are welcome to use the ideas and to improve them.
If there is not enough information about the practicalities please contact me - there is nothing better than talking to people enthusiastic enough to consider putting together new plans to benefit their communities, businesses and, of course, those individuals who would benefit from education or training to improve their own prospects.
